Terms of Service
Short version: We send availability alerts only. We never book, hold, or resell Haleakalā reservations. You are responsible for booking on reproduction.gov / recreation.gov. Text STOP to cancel SMS anytime.
1. Service
Sunrise Alert watches publicly available reservation capacity signals (including cancellation reopenings and release windows) related to Haleakalā summit sunrise vehicle reservations and notifies you by SMS and/or email when openings may be available. The service is informational only.
2. Not affiliated
We are an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partners of the U.S. National Park Service, recreation.gov, Booz Allen, or Amazon. Park rules, fees, and booking terms are set by those operators.
3. Alert-only; no booking
We do not place reservations, hold inventory, automate checkout, finish payment, or guarantee that any slot will remain available after an alert. Alerts can be delayed, missed, duplicated, or inaccurate. Always verify on the official booking site before relying on an alert.
4. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract and, if you enroll a phone number, you must be the subscriber or authorized user of that number. The SMS program is intended for users in the United States unless we state otherwise.
5. SMS program terms (Twilio / carrier requirements)
- Program name: Haleakalā Sunrise Alerts
- Description: Recurring automated texts when reservation capacity may open (cancellations/releases) and related service messages (e.g. confirmation, help, opt-out).
- Opt-in: You opt in by submitting the web form with your phone number and checking the consent box. We log consent time, source page, and IP for compliance.
- Opt-out: Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to end. You may also request removal via the contact method below. We will confirm opt-out and cease SMS.
- Help: Reply HELP or INFO for help. Or email the support address listed in these Terms / on the site.
- Frequency: Message frequency varies. You may receive a confirmation message, occasional service notices, and alert bursts when openings are detected. Quiet periods are common when nothing opens.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Check your carrier plan.
- Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported major US carriers via our messaging provider (Twilio).
- Consent not required for purchase: Consent to SMS is not a condition of purchasing any optional paid feature (when offered).

6. Acceptable use
You agree not to abuse the service, scrape our site excessively, interfere with monitoring systems in ways that harm operators or other users, use alerts for unlawful resale/scalping schemes, or enroll numbers without consent.
7. Optional paid features
Some features (for example priority SMS) may require payment. Prices and terms will be disclosed at checkout. Free tiers, when offered, may have lower rates or fewer channels.
8. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant uninterrupted monitoring or any particular booking outcome.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of trips, fees, lodging, flights, or experiences arising from missed or failed alerts, delayed messages, or unavailable reservations. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the service in the 3 months before the claim or (b) USD $50.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your booking conduct, or your violation of these Terms or law.
12. Changes & termination
We may modify or discontinue the service, or update these Terms, with notice on this page. Continued use after changes means acceptance. We may suspend accounts for abuse or legal risk. You may stop using the service anytime and opt out of SMS as described above.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your residence provide otherwise. Venue for disputes will be state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, subject to applicable consumer rights.
